Description

Helanthium bolivianum 'Vesuvius' is also known as Echinodorus 'Vesuvius'. It is the first cultivated variety of runner-forming "grasslike" sword plants. Helanthium is a distinct genus that includes H. bolivianum 'Vesuvius'. This cultivar was selected from mother plants of Helanthium bolivianum "Angustifolius" (= Echinodorus angustifolius) by Eu Kwee Hwang at Oriental Aquarium in Singapore. Stoffels International BV introduced the new cultivar during Interzoo 2006.
