Eriocaulon setaceum originates from South-East Asia and Australia, where it grows in stagnant and flowing waters. It prefers acidic substrate and soft water (4° dH or below). High light intensity (0.75+ watts per litre) and CO2 injection are necessary. A balanced nutrient content is crucial, with sufficient nitrate (5-15 mg/l), phosphate (1-2 mg/l), iron, and micronutrients. This plant grows tall with needle-like whiteish leaves and forms lateral shoots for a bushy appearance. It's a slow grower, so pruning should be minimal; if necessary, replace the old plant with cuttings no longer than 5 cm in length.
