Description

Echinodorus cordifolius is a variable species found in eastern and south-eastern USA to South America, with forms growing emersed on marshlands, ponds, or shallow lake shores. Typical high-growing plants have wide heart-shaped leaves, while some populations have narrow-oval to lanceolate leaf blades. The plant can be mistaken for Echinodorus floribundus due to similar appearance, but differs in its inflorescence and peduncle length (up to 8 cm).
